How to Measure you Head Size.

To determine your hat size, follow these 4 simple steps:

Step 1.

Using either a soft tape measure or a piece of string – Measure the circumference around your head.

Step 2.

The tape should be level, in the centre of your forehead and just above the top of your ears. It is useful to have someone assist in holding the tape which should be adjusted to a comfortable fit and the measurement taken.

Step 3.

Then check our size chart above to determine your size.

Step 4.

If your size falls between two sizes, choose the next size up. You can always attach foam fillers (available for sale) to ensure a snug fit.

I had to review this hat again and add a star

I reviewed this hat previously when it was brand new. I wanted to revise my review after a couple of field seasons of use. I'm an archaeologist, working in Florida, U.S. It's hot and humid and often I am pushing through forest brush/trees/vines/thorns for 8 hours+ a day. THIS HAT IS A BEAST. While my colleagues sarcastically say "nice hat", my reply is "have fun in your baseball cap - this hat is a stereotype for archaeologists for a reason!". I am the short guy on the team, so quite frequently am hit with the branches from the lead guy as he walks through branches. I simply tuck my chin and this hat takes all of the abuse. It doesn't even flinch. It doesn't even show the wear. It keeps the sweat out of my eyes, the rain off my glasses, the branches from scratching my face and neck, the ticks off my head and neck, and it has never been knocked off my head in wind or in the forest. Problems I still have with it are minor: my head is exactly between small/medium, but I am able to stretch it ever so slightly and get a nice, secure fit without it leaving a mark on my forehead. It is breathable. It's protective. It's handsome, and it is starting to wear like a favorite pair of jeans. I'll take all the Indiana Jones commentary I get with the smugness of knowing that this hat is my armor in the field. NOTE: the dye WILL transfer to your skin for the first few wears. It quits doing that after a few sweaty days. Pics 1 & 2, after so much abuse in the forest. Pic 3, brand new. (The lighting is weird - the color hasn't faded).
